A Pair Of Crazy, Conspiracy-Themed Bills I Got Once.

A couple of real bills I recieved as part of my tipout from a bar I used to work at about 5 years ago:
$10: "The case of Donna Dial of Round Rock, Texas was a sad one of a bright young woman gone insane with paranoid schizophrenia purely from a biological dysfunction in her brain. This is obvious to anyone who watched her ceaselessly wandering & chaotic description of her beliefs & the tears of her mother that witnessed her decline before Donna killed her and her landlord in a delusion (watch "The System *illegible*" on CourtTV). But the prosecutor in Williamson County insisted she was sane, which resulted in Dial being sent to prison rather than a mental hospital. This barbarity could only occur where primitive religion saturates the culture as it does there. Remember Thomas Willis. Tax exemptions for religion coerce Atheists to subsidize it. National God mottoes coerce pretend religious belief. These laws are unjust and unconstitutional. NO JUST GOD WOULD EVER ALLOW EVIL. FREE WILL IS A BAD JOKE. Do you understand that insanity (what the supernatural religious call "demon possession") is a purely internal neurological organizational dysfunction that can be transmitted by verbal command?"

$5: "Somebody ought to tell the truth about the bible. The preachers dare not because they would be driven from their pulpits. Professors dare not, because they would lose their salaries. Politicians dare not, they would be defeated. Editors dare not, they would lose subscribers. Merchants dare not because they might lose customers. Men of fashion dare not, because they might lose caste. Even clerks dare not because they might be discharged. And so I thought I might do it myself."- Robert G Ingersoll (About The Holy Bibile, 1894 y.b.m.*) *y.b.m.= years of a big myth. IS THIS THE SAME GOD THAT ORDERED THE SLAUGHTER OF WOMEN AND CHILDREN (deut 3:24 & 21:17-18). Read The Bible According To Mark Twain. Religious bragging notwithstanding, the bible is not the greatest work of literature. The book of numbers is mind-numbing. Twain and Shakespeare are better. Tax exemptions for religion coerce Atheists to subsidize it. National God mottoes coerce pretend religious belief. These laws are unjust and unconstitutional."

Seriously, even clerks.

"Pre Crime" Tops Google Trends. Alex Jones Takes Credit.

In response to this article, Alex Jones asked his listeners to Google the term "pre crime" to find it. In response, the term "Pre Crime" hit the top Google Trending topic. In response to that, Jones's site Prison Planet blogged about it. In response to that, Prison Planet's article about the Google Trending status of the term "Pre Crime" is now the second most popular article under that same search term.

The Servant Girl Annihilator Tour.

I could have sworn I posted about the Austin Axe Murderer, Austin, Tx's equivalent to Jack The Ripper, but going through the archives that turns out to not be the case. Well, good thing. I didn't know this until recently, but the serial killer was actually called the Servant Girl Annihilator which is a much cooler name by far, probably the coolest serial killer title I've ever heard. But I may be biased with some sort of grotesque, misguided Austinite pride.

Also, apparently, the title was bestowed on him by O Henry. No shit.

Turns out, there is apparently a tour available through Austin Ghost Tours. It's $20 tho. If I can find an excuse to turn it into a date or something, maybe I'll review it.

Here's A Video And A Rant. Free Of Charge.

Ack. So much to do. Well, SXSW is officially in progress all around me right now. Have a gig tonight @ Plush (7:45PM, if ya wanna attend) as part of the 10th Annual Yeast By Sweet Beast experimental music showcase. After we play, my attention will be torn between the rest of that show and a private Game Programmer party going on a few blocks away. Then tomorrow is Awthumfetht, Synth By Synthwest, and Datapop 3.0. And through all of this I'm still trying to find a job.

FFFFFFFFFUUUUUUU-

Well, at least most of my stress is from the awesomeness surrounding me. Could be worse. Speaking of awesome, here's a video I put together for Destroyed For Comfort. It features me and my synth player, Foetus Envy, in various stages of 8-bitness.

Peelander Z - "Let's Bowl!"

Peelander Z performing their "Let's Bowl!" routine during the SXSV event at Spiro's (which obviously turned out to be a great location) at 03/21/2009. If you pay close attention, you can see Chad onstage playing guitar in a yellow wig when the camera is panned to the far right, and Destroyed For Comfort's equipment (w/band member Foetus Envy perched nearby) when the camera pans to the left.

Sky From Hipnautica Flying A Kite Indoors.

Sky, frontman of Austin Industrial/World Music act Hipnautica, flying a kite indoors @ Plutopia. The way he can just tug it into the air, with no wind or anything, is really cool.

Another Piece Of My Childhood (Aquarena Springs) Is Being Bulldozed.

When I was a kid, it wasn't really summer until the family made a field trip to Aquarena Springs, usually on the way to a bigger event (like the now-defunt Astro World).

It was low-key but still pretty fun, especially when I was smaller. Glass-bottom boats, light-gun gunslinging, playing tic-tac-toe against a chicken, mermaid shows, and a diving-swimming pig named Ralph!

It was corny, but it had character. It's a shame to think of it as gone. Although it's cool that they're endeavoring to restore the land to the state it was a century ago.

Lord British Is Hanging Out In Outer Space Right Now

When I was 11 years old, Richard Garriott was one of my heroes. Being a kid in the late 80s, I idolized a lot of people (Ronald Reagan, Stephen King, Vanilla Ice, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) that today might seem laughable (actually, Eastman and Laird's TMNT still kinda rocks, so I take that back), but no matter what, my respect for Richard Garriot has NEVER wavered.

He personally created and programmed (I would venture to say) the most innovative, seminal computer RPG since Collossal Cave/Adventure. He then built the success of that game (Ultima) into an amazing Austin-based computer game empire (Origin Systems) that had a good run of nearly dominating the genre. Anyone else ever went to the Origin System's HQ for their Halloween haunted house? If not, you totally missed out.

Anyway, I've idolized this cat for nearly 20 years and he's in space now! How awesome is that!

Rar =)

Screwattack.com Visits Local (Austin,Tx) Video Game Store!

The guys from screwattack.com visit the North location of Austin,Texas based vintage video game store Game Over (one of my favorite places to browse in all of Austin). Wish they had spent more time in the museum (which is much more awesome than they give credit for). I wonder how hard it would be for me to arrange making a video there myself...

Anyway, awesome.
